MGM Leads the Industry Again with
the First 4-Panel Telescoping Patio Door!
 
    Once again MGM Industries is leading the pack with the introduction of their 9600 Series telescoping patio door, the first all-vinyl, four panel sliding door in the country.  Designed to span a 12 foot wide clear opening, the 9600 Series is targeted for homes with a screened in back porch or sunroom. You'll find the 9600 Series in our Southern Rose collection for new construction and in our replacement brand, Sienna.
    Our design team worked in collaboration with customers to give the style and features that are needed in today’s market, including 3/4" OA glass and color matching.  The door will “bring the outside into your home like never before.  For nature lovers, it’s a way to go on vacation right in your home.

Bronze Most Popular Vinyl Paint Color
 
    Out of all the colors to choose from, MGM's bronze painted vinyl is the most popular color by far, say the Gaskins boys.  Since they began painting their vinyl profiles two years ago, though, the most unexpected request has been the aluminum paint.  Turns out folks want the efficiency of vinyl, but the look of aluminum. Have no fear, we have it here!

Mike Smith, Tool & Die Maker
 
    When the boys at MGM decided to extruded their own vinyl profiles 12 years ago, they knew they would need a tool and die guy who could get a tool shop up and running quickly and someone who really understood the process of making tooling. Luckily, they already knew Mike Smith.
   As a tool and die maker, Mike and the team maintain the tooling, build new dies & tools for new products and keep the dies tuned. A couple of years ago, Mike was asked to help tune the extrusion tools that are designed in-house.  
    Mike and his wife of 32 years, Tina, have two adult boys - Brannon, who took after his dad and went into engineering on an MGM scholarship, and Chris, who went in the other direction, and is a host on the SyFy network's Ghost Hunters International.
    When Mike isn't at work, he enjoys heading to the woods for some camping and hiking.
    What does Mike enjoy most about working at  MGM? 
    "They're just good people here and I enjoy coming into the shop everyday."
